Admissions

SHS HCC Graduate with SMSD Graduates

Our mission is to ensure an equal opportunity for students to excel in their academic goals by promoting a rigorous curriculum that leads to an Associate degree or Level I Workforce Certificate, while earning a high school diploma.

Lottery Process

In February 2021, Stafford MSD was awarded the designation by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to be a provisional Early College High School. Through our partnership with Houston Community College (HCC), Stafford’s ECHS has the opportunity to offer students of all demographics and economic status the ability to earn an Associate Degree (60 college credit hours) at no cost to them or their family while attending high school. Our primary goals are to inform, recruit, and enroll students from differentiating backgrounds and economic status and increase their opportunities for post-secondary success.

All Early College program admittance is based on an application process. Students will apply through the “Apply Texas” (https://www.applytexas.org/adappc/gen/c_start.WBX) website and submit a district online application. Once the students are validated within the system (usually within 24-48 hours), an email will be sent out to the parents to arrange a meeting to discuss placement and further requirements to maintain enrollment.
