Dr. Adam Stephens serves as the Superintendent of Stafford Municipal School District, where he provides leadership for all aspects of district operations, academic programs, and organizational performance. In this role, he works closely with the Board of Trustees, district leadership team, staff, students, families, and community stakeholders to ensure that every decision remains focused on student success and aligned with the district’s mission and vision.

Throughout his career, Dr. Stephens has been committed to improving student outcomes, strengthening instructional systems, and developing leaders at every level of an organization. His leadership philosophy is grounded in building strong relationships, maintaining high expectations, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. He believes that every student deserves access to high-quality educational opportunities and that effective leadership is essential to creating environments where both students and educators can thrive.

Prior to joining Stafford MSD, Dr. Stephens served as the Chief Academic Officer for Fort Bend Independent School District, one of the largest school districts in Texas. In that role, he provided executive leadership for curriculum, instruction, assessment, special programs, and academic services. Dr. Stephens has also served as an Assistant Superintendent, Director of Academic and Professional Learning Services, Innovative Curriculum Officer, Principal, Assistant Principal, and Special Education Teacher.

With more than 23 years of experience in public education, Dr. Stephens brings extensive expertise in instructional leadership, strategic planning, organizational improvement, and systems-level change. He has led numerous initiatives focused on improving academic achievement, expanding opportunities for students, strengthening leadership development, and creating systems that support long-term organizational success.
