Please join us in welcoming Stafford MSD Chief Academic Officer Dr. Kadir Almus and Stafford MSD Chief of Schools Dr. Dawn Dubose.
Dr. Kadir Almus
Almus has 25 years of experience as an educator. He grew up in Turkey and earned his Master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Houston. He previously served as an administrator for Harmony Public Schools. Before that, he was a science teacher in Europe for many years.
The diversity of the district drew me initially; when I visited these schools in the past, I was also impressed with the school system and the tenacity of the people involved,” Almus said. “As Stafford MSD is relatively small, I believed I would have an opportunity to make a thoroughly positive impact on each and every one of the student’s lives and futures.”
Dr. Dawn Dubose
Dubose was born in Phoenix and grew up in Fort Worth.
She earned a Master’s Degree from Prairie View A&M University, a Superintendent Certification from the University of Houston-Victoria and a Doctorate from Texas Southern University. Dubose has worked in education for 26 years, first as a teacher and most recently as a Leadership Development Officer/Associate Superintendent with Houston ISD. “I have lived in the Houston metropolitan area for over 26 years and always heard positive things about SMSD, so this district has been on my radar for a very long time,” Dubose said. “My goals revolve around supporting the ideas and goals set by District, to support teachers, principals and other personnel, and more importantly to contribute to ensuring that all students in SMSD receive a quality education that will help them become productive citizens and prepared leaders.”
