On July 26, 2022, Stafford MSD and Lamar Consolidated ISD were proud to host a successful second "A Day with the United States Secret Service" in Stafford, Texas at the Stafford Centre. Stafford MSD Superintendent Dr. Robert Bostic spearheaded the first event in 2018, and invited Superintendent of LCISD Dr. Roosevelt Nivens, to multiply efforts and host the program together in 2022.

Dr. Nivens said, "And we were proud to answer the call to unite with [Stafford MSD] because we understand the power of working together and how important school safety is to Fort Bend County."

As schools prepare for a brand new school year, the event was timely and the only one of its kind where the U.S. Secret Service has been directly involved with educators.  The program agenda included information about targeted school violence, steps to threat assessments, active shooter response, and child safety.

Dr. Bostic said, "I’m grateful to my brother, Retired Senior Special Agent Mac Bostic, for bringing the resources and access to my attention. In the early years, Mac came out and performed security updates for SMSD and worked with law enforcement from the City of Stafford. This year Mac has returned accompanied by my cousin Elic Bostic, Retired US Marshall, to update the assessment and provide critical support. We are grateful for their undivided expertise and attention to safety and security."

Many others provided support including the City of Stafford, special guest Fort Bend ISD, Region 4, and over 20 generous sponsors and vendors (listed below).

Region 4, whose primary focus is on excellence in service for children, handled online registration for the event and nearly 700 school district leaders registered to attend. The target audience for the event was PK-12 school district leaders such as Superintendents, Deputy Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Campus Police, Police Departments, Campus Principals, Assistant Principals, Central Office Administrators, District Administrators, Technology Directors, Counselors, and Social Workers who serve school districts.

It was a great day for Fort Bend and the state of Texas as many answered the call to safety in schools, and left the event more prepared to keep our schools safe.
