Christopher Caldwell is a 17 year resident of Stafford, Texas and has two children: daughter, Ashle (TCU Senior) and son, Ethan. He currently works at Houston Community College where he is a Professor of Business Technology and a member of the S.T.E.M committee. Christopher Caldwell is very active in the community where he has served as coach/director of the Stafford Youth Basketball Association (SYBA) for 7 years. He is also a coach for the C.L. Stars Track Club which trains at Stafford High. Aside from his volunteer activities in Stafford, Mr. Caldwell also coaches little league football. He is currently a Doctoral student at Texas Southern University. His field of study is Educational Administration with emphasis in Higher Education. Christopher Caldwell is a perpetual supporter of education and has worked in the field of education for 24 years. His roles in education have spanned from Teacher’s Assistant to Department Chair.
In his early years as a novice in the field education, Christopher Caldwell worked as a teacher’s assistant for Houston Community College Central Campus at Milby High School. He then moved to the Student Service Department at Houston Community College Southwest working in the Registrar’s office as an admission clerk and cashier. Wanting to learn more aspects of Student Services, Mr. Caldwell expanded his opportunities by becoming a Financial Aid Officer at the Northeast Campus of Houston Community College. Soon after, he was moved to the position of Student Recruiter for the Northeast Campus. During this time he began teaching as an adjunct faculty member in the Business Technology Department. Mr. Caldwell left Houston Community College to begin work at The College of Biblical Studies in the role of Director of Student Recruitment. Feeling the need to return to the Academic side of College, Mr. Caldwell returned to Houston Community College working at the Southeast College as Job Placement Officer/Career Counselor. After working as the interim ADA Counselor, Mr. Caldwell accepted a full-time faculty position in the Business Technology Department. He was appointed to Associate Chair and later voted on to become Department Chair. He also served as a member of the faculty senate.
Several awards and achievement have marked Mr. Caldwell’s career—notable among them are: NCAA All-American (Track & Field), Fred Wollcot Award (Rice Most Valuable Student Athlete), 1992 & 1996 U.S Olympic Trial Qualifier, Who’s Who among American University Students.
Christopher Caldwell earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Economics with a minor in Political Science from Rice University (Houston, TX), and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix (satellite campus Houston, TX). He is currently a doctoral candidate at Texas Southern University in Educational Administration with an emphasis on Higher Education. Mr. Caldwell has earned his Microsoft Office Specialization Masters Certificate. He is a member of The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., were he previously served as a District Council member.
