Pre-K & Kindergarten Registration

Building brains one student at a time

The Texas Legislature determines eligibility requirements for free, public prekindergarten in Texas. When the Texas legislature established the prekindergarten program the intent was, and still is, to provide early learning experiences to students who are most at risk for school failure. Therefore, the eligibility is limited. The legislature believed that a high-quality prekindergarten program could mitigate the impact of the at-risk characteristics, thereby assisting these students to become school ready when they enter kindergarten.  Stafford MSD offers a pre-kindergarten program for eligible students who turn 3 years of age on or before September 1st of the school year in which they intend to enroll.  Please read the following information regarding Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten registration for the 2020 – 2021 school year.

Pre-Kindergarten Registration for the 2020-2021 School Year

Online prekindergarten pre-registration for the 2020 – 2021 school year is available for students who will turn 3 years of age on or before September 1, 2020.  Students must also meet the prekindergarten eligibility criteria in order to enroll.  Due to the impact of the COVID-19 crisis, the face-to-face prekindergarten pre-registration event originally scheduled for April 18th, 2020 will not take place.  Therefore, all parents/guardians will be required to pre-register their students online.  The District will contact families to complete the registration process when the District resumes normal operations.
