Running Backs Coach
Coach Derrick Ray is a dedicated educator and mentor who is passionate about teaching and coaching. He has been with Stafford MSD for four years, serving in the history department as an 8th-grade US History teacher. Coach Ray is responsible for coaching the varsity running backs, 7th grade basketball, and 7th/8th grade track. As a versatile leader, he is committed to developing young athletes, going beyond the game, and instilling values of teamwork, perseverance, and, most importantly, discipline. Coach Ray enjoys spending time with his family when he is not motivating the youth. Whether quality moments with his wife, three sons, or grandson, the family remains at the heart of his life. Coach Ray is also involved in his community, serving as a mentor. He strives to make a positive impact on the youth. He is much more than an educator and coach, but a role model, leader and inspiration to those around him.
