The season is here and the girls and boys, have been kicking up the grass as they are still in the early parts of what is geared up to be a successful season. 

The Lady Spartans kicked their season off with scrimmage match-ups against Kempner and Ft. Bend Marshall. This week they will participate in the I-10 Shootout taking place January 8-10 at Freeman HS. Then they will face Iowa Colony before beginning district play, set to start Jan 19th against Willowridge. 

The Mighty Spartans kicked their season of Dec 12th, with scrimmages, in prep for their first match-up against Sealy where they won 3-0. The Spartans are currently 3-1 on their season, as they head into the Huffman Tournament being held Jan. 8-10th. The Spartans will close out pre-district play against Iowa Colony, and match up with Sweeny Jan. 22 to begin district play. 

The season is just around the corner. Softball is set to begin late January, while baseball will get going early February. Softball and Baseball return after seeing postseason play last season for the first time in 10 years, a feat they are hoping to continue in this upcoming season. 

We want to take time and congratulate Kaitlyn Galvan-Torres on the clarinet. She made the ATSSB ALL-STATE BAND. 

More than 10,000 high school band students from across Texas auditioned in twenty-two different regions for a place in the all-state band. This is the highest honor a student can receive in band. The state bands will meet in rehearsals in San Antonio, Texas, February 11-14, 2026, and will present a concert beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2026, in the Lila Cockrell Theatre of the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center in downtown San Antonio.
