INCLEMENT WEATHER AND EMERGENCY CLOSING OF STAFFORD MSD
Weather in the Greater Houston area is often unpredictable. Preparation is key.
Student and staff safety is our highest priority. Therefore, during severe weather, our schools and facilities operate using emergency protocols as part of the National Incident Management System in response to severe weather notifications by local emergency officials.
Stafford MSD Procedures for Emergency Closing of Schools and Offices - The Superintendent may close schools and offices due to severe weather or emergencies (flooding, power outage, icy roads, etc.). If schools are closed or delayed, Stafford MSD will notify parents using its telephone and e-mail notification system, School Messenger.
SMSD will notify all major Houston metro-area media outlets by 5:40 a.m., prior to the scheduled start of school.
Notices will be posted to the SMSD web page, staffordmsd.org
, as well as posted on our district's Twitter and Facebook pages.
Please call 281-261-9200 for information about schedule changes due to weather.
