It is a very exciting time to be part of the Stafford Municipal School District!

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, the Administration and the Staff, I would like to welcome all of our Stafford MSD students back to campus for the 2018-19 school year. We will have several Back to School/Open House events in the community, and we encourage you to check with your campus administration on the days and times of these events.

August is also #StaffordMSDProud Month, and we have a wide variety of exciting events for the community.

School Safety and Security is at the top of our list of priorities. We are committed to ensuring the safety of our students and staff and have worked closely with the law enforcement community to ensure that our commitment remains strong. In addition, Bond Funds have been approved to create new security vestibules for the campuses.

We have many new and familiar faces at our campuses this year.

At our graduation ceremony on May 25, we were honored to have 1998 Stafford High School graduate Raymond Root as the keynote speaker. Many of you know that Mr. Root isn’t just a prominent SHS graduate, but the new Stafford High School Principal!

Our new principal at Stafford Elementary is Twyla Hynes, the former Associate Principal who succeeds Dr. Valerie Orum. Hynes played a key role in helping Stafford Elementary become a Top 1 Percent Elementary School in Texas.

Stafford MSD is a STEM-focused School District, and our 2017 Bond includes a STEM Magnet Campus that will open in the coming years. You will begin to see construction soon on 2017 Bond Projects, including the state-of-the-art Stafford Middle School, set to open during the 2019-20 school year.

We have elaborate plans to roll out a Digital Learning Platform, which will create options for our

students. They will have the choice of traditional classroom learning, blended learning or online classes. All of our Stafford Middle School seventh and eighth graders will have iPads as part of the 1:1 Initiative. In line with our 20/20 Vision, the Digital Learning initiative will be implemented gradually, with completion expected in the year 2020.

Thank you for choosing Stafford MSD. We look forward to a wonderful school year.
