Stafford Grads earn $2.7 Million in Scholarships

This is the image for the news article titled Stafford Grads earn $2.7 Million in ScholarshipsThe Stafford High School Class of 2018 graduated on Friday night before a large crowd of family, friends and SMSD faculty/staff on Friday night at Texas Southern University in Houston.

Stafford High Principal Raymond Root, a 1998 Stafford High School Graduate, gave the commencement address 20 years after he earned his SHS diploma.

Stafford Valedictorian Dung Trinh and Salutatorian Bryan Burman gave excellent speeches. Both Trinh and Burman will study at the University of Texas this fall.

There are 239 graduates in the Class of 2018. Eighty-eight percent will attend college, while five percent will enter the U.S. Military. Fourteen percent will begin a Career. There is an overlap because some of the students who will be attending college will also start careers simultaneously.

The Class of 2018 was collectively awarded $2.7 Million in academic scholarships.
