The Stafford Municipal School District was proud to celebrate a historic groundbreaking on Monday morning.

Even a cold, rainy morning could not stop the sunny disposition of Stafford administrators, trustees, teachers, students and community members as they marked the groundbreaking of the new Stafford Middle School.

The groundbreaking is the result of a $62 Million Bond that Stafford voters approved in November 2017. It is the largest bond in Stafford’s history.

Stafford MSD Superintendent Dr. Robert Bostic welcomed all seven trustees, as well as Fort Bend County Judge K.P. George, Stafford Mayor Leonard Scarcella, Stafford Council Members and representatives of state and federal elected officials.

“We are delivering a better and more modern Stafford Municipal School District, and today was another milestone in that process,” Dr. Bostic said.

“Upon completion of the project, you will have the only STEM Magnet School of its kind in Fort Bend County, an Early Childhood Center that serves 3 year old students and a Stafford community center – open to serve ALL of the city’s residents.”

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Stafford Middle School Band played the school song, and dignitaries took groundbreaking photos with shovels. A short reception followed, led by the District’s Culinary Arts Program.
